Medtronic extends sponsorship of Twin Cities Marathon
Medtronic has agreed a deal with Twin Cities in Motion to extend its title sponsorship of the Twin Cities Marathon for a further three years.
Three other events - the TC 1 Mile, TC Family Events and the TC 10 Mile - are also included in the package. Medtronic will also support Twin Cities in Motion initiatives aimed at promoting running among the community in Minneapolis and St Paul, Minnesota.
Kirsten Goursuch, the vice president of Medtronic, said: "This partnership is a perfect fit, as we share similar values and a strong commitment to make our community a better, healthier place to live and work. As we look to the future, we are excited to build upon that foundation in an effort to help create a healthier Minnesota, and a healthier world."
Twin Cities In Motion executive director Virginia Brophy Achman added: "Since Medtronic became our title sponsor of the four events in 2006, participation has increased more than 40 percent. In addition, more than 11,000 children have participated in the Medtronic TC Kids Marathon school-based program, running a collective 233,000 miles. This partnership clearly has enabled us to do more than ever to help promote health and fitness in Minnesota and throughout the world."
The 2010 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon weekend took place between 1st and 3rd October.
