Free-to-air Spanish broadcaster Mediaset has agreed a deal with Barcelona-based production company Mediapro to secure rights for the Copa del Rey, Spanish club soccer’s top-level knockout competition.
The agreement will allow Mediaset to show five games from the final rounds of the tournament, starting with the first leg of the quarter-final tie between Leganés and Real Madrid on Thursday. The rights package also includes all four games from the two-legged semi-final ties.
As well as on its free-to-air channel Telecino, Mediaset will stream the games through Mitele.es and the Mitele app.
The games will also be aired by Mediapro-owned free-to-air network Gol, which has been covering the competition since the start of the season and will be the only channel to broadcast the final, which is due to take place on 21st April.
