MUTV, the subscription-based television channel owned and operated by English soccer giants Manchester United, has secured exclusive rights in the UK and Ireland to each of Belgium’s warm-up matches for the upcoming Fifa World Cup in Russia.

MUTV customers will have access to live coverage of the Belgian national team’s fixtures against European champions Portugal, Egypt and Costa Rica. The fixtures are likely to feature United players Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini, both of whom have been named in Belgium’s provisional 28-man squad.

Each broadcast will start at 7:30pm GMT and will feature 15 minutes of pre-match build up to every game. Coverage will be available on and via the network’s assigned channels on Sky and Virgin Media.

“MUTV’s broadcast of these three important World Cup warm up matches demonstrates the channel’s commitment to bringing world class live football to our fans,” said Manchester United chief executive of media Phil Lynch. “The acquisition of the live rights to these matches is part of the club’s continued investment into its digital platforms and something we will continue to explore in the future.”

MUTV’s broadcasts of Belgium’s preparations for the World Cup – in which they will face England in the group stages - will precede the channel’s coverage of United’s pre-season fixtures against Real Madrid, Liverpool and AC Milan.
