French top-flight soccer outfit Toulouse are reportedly in discussions with Manchester City owners, City Football Group (CFG), with a view to joining the global club conglomerate.

Toulouse are keen to raise cash in a bid to improve its Ligue 1 stability, having narrowly avoided relegation last season, with club president Olivier Sadran revealing negotiations are underway with an industrial partner and a “big European club”. Interestingly, the club recently redesigned its club crest in a style similar to other CFG group members.
“We are working on a capital increase plan to give more resources to the club,” said Sadran. “With an industrial partner that brings added value... through a partnership with a big European club.
“This partnership will allow us to have more skills, be more consistent, and be more efficient in the game.”
CFG made a sixth club acquisition when it added then new La Liga side Girona last August with the Abu Dhabi-backed group purchasing a 44.3 per cent stake alongside Pere Guardiola, brother of Manchester City manager Pep, who took a matching stake.
CFG's portfolio also includes Australian A-League club Melbourne City, Major League Soccer's (MLS) New York City and Torque in Uruguay’s Second Division. CFG is also a minority shareholder in Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan’s J-League.
