AMB Sports and Entertainment (AMBSE), the company which owns the National Football League’s (NFL) Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United of Major League Soccer (MLS), has announced that transportation network Lyft will be the official rideshare partner of both franchises.
The announcement comes ahead of the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where both teams are scheduled to start playing their home games from 26th August.
Lyft will provide fans of the Georgia-based clubs a safe and affordable method of travel to and from designated drop-off and pick-up areas outside the new arena. In return, the company will benefit from a range of signage and advertising opportunities inside the stadium.
The length and financial details of the deal were not available.
Mike Gomes, senior vice president of fan experience for AMBSE, said: “We have recognised that a growing number of our fans have already chosen Lyft for their rideshare needs across Atlanta and we are thrilled by the value this will bring those coming to enjoy a game or event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.”
Atlanta United are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference in their first season of MLS, while the Falcons play their first game of the 2017 NFL season away to the Chicago Bears on 10th September.
