Liqui-Moly has signed a five-year extension with Supercars Events to remain the title sponsor of the Bathurst 12 Hour, Australia’s international endurance race featuring GT and production cars.
The German company, which specialises in oils, lubricants and additives, took over the naming rights for the round-the-clock event from Amor All in 2013, and the renewed agreement will see the race continue as the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour until at least 2022.
The Bathurst 12 Hour is a regular feature on the international GT calendar, taking place at the Mount Panorama Circuit in early February each year.
“Both Liqui-Moly Australia and Liqui-Moly Germany are especially proud of our association with the Bathurst 12-Hour,” said Bruce Morrison, managing director of MotorActive, Liqui-Moly’s Australian partner. “We’re looking forward to working hand in hand with Supercars Events over the next five years to really ramp things up and promote the Liqui-Moly brand, while helping to make the already wildly popular race an even bigger global event.”
“The Bathurst 12 Hour and MotorActive have been working together to grow this iconic event since the 2013 season and this new relationship will extend the partnership to ten years,” added Shane Rudzis, commercial manager of the Bathurst 12 Hour. “Bruce Morrison and his team continue to be passionate supporters of the race and have been vital in the growth and visibility of what has quickly become an iconic part of both national and international motorsport.”
