Golfer Lexi Thompson has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Bridgestone Golf.
The American, 22, will play with and act as an ambassador for the brand’s line of high-performance golf balls, as well as featuring in marketing campaigns.
The current world number four has played with Bridgestone balls for the past two seasons, during which time she has recorded three LPGA Tour wins, 18 top-ten finishes, and claimed last year’s season-long Race to the CME Globe.
“One of the most promising stars in professional golf, Lexi is an excellent addition to our large and growing stable of influential ambassadors,” said Angel Ilagan, Bridgestone Golf’s president and chief executive.
Thompson, who was named among SportsPro’s most recent list of the world’s 50 most marketable athletes, counts the likes of Puma, Lexus and Zurich Insurance among her personal sponsor portfolio. She is represented by Bobby Kreusler at Blue Giraffe Sports.
Bridgestone’s stable of golf endorsers already includes Tiger Woods - who signed with the company in December 2016 - as well as Brandt Snedeker, Matt Kuchar, Fred Couples and Bryson DeChambeau.
