Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha is heading up a consortium to purchase Belgian soccer side OH Leuven.
Srivaddhanaprabha is the vice chairman of Premier League soccer champions Leicester City and the son of the club’s owner. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
According to Belgian newspaper HLN, Srivaddhanaprabha has proposed a deal that is ‘a multiple of UK£2million’ to buy the Belgian second division side. It also reports that ‘a delegation from the Belgium club’ will be present at the Foxes’ next home game - at the King Power - against Watford on 6th May.
Although Leuven were relegated from the top-tier Jupiler League last season, Srivaddhanaprabha wants to use them as a feeder club for Leicester City. The Thai businessman hopes that the Dennis van Wijk-managed team will be promoted and has reportedly promised them a large transfer budget, as well as a new stadium and training complex.
