Lagardère Sports has entered a partnership with Splyce, a US-based esports team who compete in the LCS Champions Series.
The deal will see the marketing agency manage the team’s sales activities and help them acquire new partners and sponsors. The agreement is also geared towards the expansion and advancement of the team’s marketing activities, along with the development of individual campaign and activation concepts.
The partnership will primarily focus on Europe and Asia while also exploring more global opportunities. The length and financial terms of the agreement were not released.
Marty Strenczewilk, chief executive and co-founder of Splyce, said: “Lagardère Sports has shown itself to be a market leader in the world of sports marketing and sales, through its numerous top-tier clients around the world.
“Further to this, they’ve done great work with the early esports teams they’ve brought on this year, showing that they do more than just talk about what they can bring to our industry. I’m really optimistic about the ability they have to open doors that have previously been almost impossible for an esports team and move the needle in terms of non-endemic esports revenue.”
Moritz Altmann, senior director of esports at Lagardère Sports, added: “Our partnership with Splyce enables us to demonstrate our activities and strengths beyond the borders of Europe, within the Asian market. We very much look forward to this collaboration and to increasing the number of games titles in our portfolio.”
