Kumho Tires has confirmed its plan to sponsor the 2013 Chinese Touring Car Championship. The tyre manufacturer will sponsor the series and be its official tyre supplier.
The contract covers the 2013, 2014 and 2015 series, with Kumho beating Yokohama and Michelin after a competitive tender.
"Through this partnership with the CTCC, Kumho is able to confirm that our technology and reputation in China are well recognised and increasing in strength," said Hyung Woo Kim, marketing executive of Kumho Tires China.
"We will actively use the CTCC in promoting our technology and brand, as this is an excellent stage to showcase Kumho Tires' technical capabilities and passion towards motorsports."
The company is a regular sponsor of Chinese motorsport events and will launch a major marketing programme in the company to complement its sponsorship of a series first run in 2004, as the China Circuit Championship.
