Smokefree NZ has joined New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) as a sleeve sponsor for the duration of the upcoming 2013 Rugby League World Cup (RLWC).
Phil Holden, chief executive of the Kiwis said: “This is an extension of a long term and extremely valued relationship between the Health Promotion Agency and New Zealand Rugby League. With our shared aim of inspiring New Zealander's to lead better lives, we see them as a natural partner for our game.”
"We are really pleased to be able to extend our partnership with the New Zealand Rugby League. These games will reach a large viewing audience here, which will enable us to spread our message widely,” added Health Promotion Agency general manager Tane Cassidy.
The newly emblazoned jerseys made their debut in the Kiwi’s 50-0 thumping of the Cook Islands in their World Cup warm-up fixture.
New Zealand, the reigning champions, will begin their RLWC defence against Samoa on Sunday, with the tournament, being staged in England and Wales, getting underway in Cardiff on Saturday.
