Korean skater Kim Yu-na has added a new deal with Korean Air to one of the most lucrative sponsorship rosters in the Olympic movement.
The 20-year-old figure skater, who added a gold medal at the Vancouver Olympic Games to her 2009 world championship and who has never finished off the podium in her career. That record stretches back to her victory in the senior South Korean national championship at the age of 12.
The deal sees Korean Air hand Kim free first-class travel on all its routes. The airline joins a sponsorship portfolio including Nike, Hyundai and Kookmin Bank that contributed to annual earnings of US$9.7 million last year, according to Forbes.
The starlet has also released a number of hit singles, two books, and is hosting 'Kim Yu-na's Kiss and Cry' - a reality television show in which celebrities will be trained to skate competitively by professional skaters.
