South African cricket star Kagiso Rabada has signed an endorsement deal with luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer.
The Swiss company has recruited the fast bowler as a ‘friend of the brand’, which means he will feature in social media campaigns and editorials, as well as making event appearances.
The Johannesburg native joins a star-studded list of Tag Heuer ambassadors including Portuguese soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and New Zealand rugby legend Dan Carter.
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Tag Heuer family,” said Rabada. “This is a great recognition. Tag Heuer is represented by some of the world’s greatest athletes, many of whom I am a great admirer of, which leaves me even more thrilled to partner with such an iconic brand.”
Rabada burst onto the international cricket scene in 2014, and has quickly earned a reputation as a fiery character through a number of on-field confrontations with opposition players. He has already taken more than 100 wickets in Test cricket, and his recent performances against Australia saw him bumped up to number one in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Test bowling rankings.
