National Basketball Association (NBA) player Justise Winslow has signed a multi-year partnership with Met-Rx.
The sports nutrition brand will serve as the Miami Heat forward’s official nutrition partner, and will provide the 21-year-old with access to their products and personal trainers as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.
The agreement will be activated at the 2017 United States Basketball Association (USBA) Boys National Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“I'm focused on returning to the court and competing at the highest level with my teammates, and Met-Rx is playing a big role in my preparation,” said Winslow. "Their protein bars are the perfect fuel for my training regimen and Travelle Gaines is one of the best trainers in the business. I'm excited to continue to step up my workouts as we get closer to the start of the season."
Derek Bowen, the chief marketing officer and general manager of The Nature’s Bounty Co., which owns Met-Rx, added: “Justise has won at every level, including a National Championship, so he knows what it takes to win, and we have always been impressed with his work ethic and determination on and off the court. We want to help him get back on the court and continue to dominate.”
Winslow’s Miami Heat finished ninth in the NBA Eastern Conference in 2016/17, failing to qualify for the season-ending play-offs for the second time in three years.
