JLT confirmed as Sheffield Shield’s naming rights partner

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Australia has signed a four-year extension with Cricket Australia (CA), the country’s governing body for professional and amateur cricket.

Under the terms of the expanded agreement, JLT Australia will continue to be the official risk partner of CA and will also be the naming rights partner of the 2017/18 Sheffield Shield, Australia’s domestic first-class competition. It will also have an increased brand exposure at all men’s domestic and international fixtures.

JLT also replaces Matador BBQs as the naming rights sponsor of the domestic One Day Cup for the upcoming season.

“JLT has been Cricket Australia’s risk partner for many years and we are excited to be strengthening this partnership and aligning JLT with our premier men’s domestic product, the Sheffield Shield,” said James Sutherland, chief executive of CA. “We know there will be a big build-up, with a focus on player preparation in the first part of the Sheffield Shield, which will provide JLT some fantastic opportunities.

“Domestic Cricket is the nursery ground for our Australian stars and we look forward to working with JLT and supporting their growth objectives in their partnership with cricket.” 

The Australian cricket season commences on 27th September when the CA XI takes on South Australia in the opening fixture of the JLT One Day Cup at the Allan Border Field, Brisbane. The 116th JLT Sheffield Shield season launches with a day-night match between Queensland and Victoria at Brisbane’s Gabba on 26th October.
