London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis has signed a personal endorsement deal with private medical insurance providers PruHealth and PruProtect to become an ambassador of the Vitality wellness programme.
The agreement will see Ennis promote the programme through a number of marketing channels in 2013 and become the face of a new member magazine. In addition, according to an official press release, ‘Jessica and her family will share their Vitality experiences, and offer practical advice and motivation to enable everyone, regardless of their current state of health and fitness to take achievable steps towards lifelong wellbeing.’
“I think the Vitality programme is absolutely brilliant - we all love to be rewarded for our hard work to get healthy and Vitality has so many ways to reward people,” Ennis said. “Everything I feel I stand for is echoed in the values of Vitality and I hope I can make people see that achieving your personal health goals is really a matter of planning the journey and sticking with it.”
According to Nick Read, director of Vitality: “We are delighted to be working with Jessica because she truly embodies the values of Vitality: through hard work to change behaviours and improve health, not only do people feel better, but they can get rewarded as well.”
Meanwhile, London 2012 triathlete Helen Jenkins has signed a four-year personal endorsement deal with sports nutrition brand Science in Sport.
The deal will see Jenkins, who finished fifth at the London 2012 Olympic Games, promote Science in Sport’s products through a variety of channels, including social media, until 2016.
