James Rodríguez nets Libertex deal

Real Madrid and Colombia soccer star James Rodríguez has become a brand ambassador for Libertex, a financial markets trading platform.

The midfielder will lend his image to the company’s future promotional campaigns and its website. Neither the financial terms nor the duration of the agreement have been released.

“I’m happy to become partners with the award-winning Forex and CFD solution Libertex,” said Rodríguez. “We share the same values and strive to be the best at what we do. Their reputation has helped them become the leader in online trading.”

Rodríguez was the top scorer at the 2014 Fifa World Cup, which led to his €79.8million (US$82.8million) transfer to La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Colombia captain has long-term endorsement deals in place with boot manufacturer Adidas, telecommunications firm Huawei, snack foods giant PepsiCo, and fashion label Hugo Boss. In addition, the playmaker owns his own energy drink called 10 Gold.
