ITF nets Fed Cup rights deals in six territories

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has awarded the broadcast rights to the Fed Cup in six territories.

Seven (Australia), Romtelecom (Romania), Polsat (Poland) and BeIN Sports (Thailand and Indonesia) have all signed two-year deals to show the women’s international team competition, while Swiss network TV24 has signed an agreement covering 2015 only.

The new deals were signed ahead of last weekend’s World Group and World Group II first round ties and follow last week’s announcement of a new strategic media rights partnership between the ITF and BeIN Sports.

That partnership is designed to increase the global exposure and quality of Davis Cup and Fed Cup coverage across both linear and digital channels.

According to the ITF, around 2,400 hours of Fed Cup coverage was provided by more than 40 broadcasters in over 100 territories last year.
