Italian volleyball ‘breaks a stunning record’ with MP & Silva
Media rights agency MP & Silva has signed a long-term worldwide media rights deal with the Italian Volleyball League.
The agency will distribute the league's media rights internationally until 2016.
The top tier of Italian volleyball, the Serie A1, consists of 12 teams competing in a regular league season, followed by a playoff tournament.
MP & Silva's rights package includes all 22 rounds of the regular season, ten to 16 playoff matches, as well as four Coppa Italia A1 cup games.
Diego Mosna, president of Serie A1, said: “The sales of our international TV rights international have really increased in the last fifteen years. Apart from football, among the Italian club sports we are the favorite of the broadcasters outside our borders.
"Now we’re signing an agreement with MP & Silva which is literally a milestone for the league history and it’s going to become an impressive accelerator for our clubs’ visibility. Our export marketing today breaks a stunning record”.
