IMG seals more free-to-air coverage for Tour de Suisse
Swiss public broadcaster SRG will continue to air free-to-air coverage of the Tour de Suisse cycling race after signing an extension to its deal with race promoters IMG.
SRG will continue as the official host broadcaster of the race, a key fixture on the cycling calendar in the build up to the Tour de France, both this year and next. It will air coverage on all three of its national channels, SRF, RTS and RSI.
As host broadcaster, SRG will also provide an international feed of the race for IMG to distribute to broadcasters around the world.
As a result of the new deal, IMG believes the week-long race will achieve a higher profile within Switzerland. For the first time, fixed transmission times have been agreed with SRG. Race finish times have also been rescheduled for between 1840 and 1850 everyday except Sunday, pushing the broadcasts closer to peak time.
The 2013 edition of the Tour de Suisse will take place from 8th to 16th June.
