The University of South Alabama's Department of Athletics will receive at least US$2 million over the next five years after agreeing a partnership with IMG College, a division of IMG worldwide.
The deal covers corporate sponsorships, on-site marketing, website sales as well as radio and television broadcast rights.
IMG has guaranteed the US$2 million figure.
"The University of South Alabama has done an amazing job in growing its athletic program," said Tom Stultz, IMG College's senior vice president.
"It is an honor to work with the University, and we look forward to using the global resources of IMG to develop its multi-media rights program."
The university's athletics department has produced sportsmen such as baseball stars Juan Pierre, Luis Gonzalez, Jon Lieber and Marlon Anderson, while former Atlanta Falcons receiver Joey Jones has been appointed as the head football coach.
The basketball team has had back to back 20-win seasons.
"We are looking forward to a partnership with IMG which will help us reach our full marketing potential," said Joe Gottfried, the university's director of Athletics.
"This partnership will make IMG College the exclusive holder of our athletic multi-media rights offerings."
The deal will run from July until the summer of 2014.
Earlier in the year IMG College agreed a 12-year deal with the University of Cincinnati worth more than US$30 million.
