IAAF confirms further broadcast partners
The International Association of Athletics Federations has secured broadcast deals in Hong Kong, Argentina and other parts of South America in agreements brokered by its marketing partner, Dentsu.
PCCW has signed a four year deal to show IAAF events across Hong Kong, continuing what the governing body described as “good news for the IAAF in Asia” after earlier deals in Japan, China and Korea. An IAAF statement added that “further discussions are being held in other Asian territories.”
In Argentina, TvC sports, a pay television service in the country, has signed an agreement to show selected IAAF events – those under the World Athletic Series banner – for the next four years.
The third agreement, announced as a package by the Monaco-based IAAF, will see Organización de Televisión Iberoamericana (OTI) provide coverage of March’s world indoor championships in Perum Chile, Panama and Guatemala. The three-day event, being held in Doha, Qatar, is the first major athletics meet of the season.
