Chinese mobile phone and electronic goods manufacturer Huawei has become a sponsor of Argentinian soccer giants River Plate.
The Buenos Aires-based club will wear Huawei's logo on the sleeves of their playing shirts for the duration of the agreement, which covers the next two seasons.
The sponsorship was announced at the River Museum, with the event attended by club president Rodolfo D'Onofrio, the team's coach Marcelo Gallardo, and captain Leonardo Ponzio, as well as George Zhang Zhe, Huawei's chief executive of terminals for Argentina and Uruguay.
"It is an honour for River to have Huawei as part of our shirt," said D'Onofrio. "We are very satisfied to be able to work together with a world-leading company in technology, with values, seriousness and commitment."
