The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has expanded its agreement with Hero MotoCorp, the Indian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer.
The company will become a major sponsor of all of India’s national sides, with a strong brand presence at stadiums for all home games through pitchside electronic boards, as well as across the teams’ various social media platforms. It is the first time that the national team will have a sponsor since an agreement with Panasonic came to an end in 2012.
Hero has been the title sponsor of the country’s franchise-based Indian Super League (ISL) since its inaugural edition in 2014. It is also the sponsor of the I-League, which sits at the top of the men’s club soccer pyramid, and the AIFF’s knockout cup, the Federation Cup.
Kushal Das, the general secretary of the AIFF, confirmed that Hero “have come on board for the Indian senior national team and the other age group sides as well”.
