DAZN, the over-the-top (OTT) service operated by digital sports media company Perform, has picked up rights to the upcoming boxing rematch between British heavyweight rivals David Haye and Tony Bellew.
DAZN will show the fight exclusively in Germany and Austria, as well as non-exclusively in Switzerland. The streaming platform will also cover the pre-fight press conference and the weigh-in, while fans will be able to re-watch the bout on-demand for up to two weeks.
The rematch, which takes place on 5th May at London’s O2 Arena, will be included as part of DAZN’s subscription package, meaning there will be no additional pay-per-view charge for the company’s subscribers.
Former cruiserweight world champion Bellew claimed victory when the pair first met in March last year, knocking out Haye, who ruptured an Achilles tendon in the sixth round, in the 11th. The rematch was originally scheduled for 17th December but had to be postponed after Haye sustained a bicep injury.
The fight is the latest instalment of DAZN’s recent boxing coverage, which has included Floyd Mayweather’s showdown against Conor McGregor, as well as Anthony Joshua’s bouts against Wladimir Klitschko and Joseph Parker.
