National Basketball Association (NBA) champions the Golden State Warriors have announced a new two-year partnership with Tanduay.
The Philippine rum brand will serve as the presenting sponsor of the California-based franchise’s Filipino Heritage Night on 29th October when the team host the Detroit Pistons. The company will also be the presenting sponsor of various other games during the season, and will benefit from signage inside the club’s Oracle Arena.
The partnership will run until the end of the 2018/19 campaign with an option for renewal. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Tanduay also serves as the official rum of another NBA franchise, the Brooklyn Nets.
Chip Bowers, chief marketing officer for the Golden State Warriors, said: “Of our 12 million Facebook followers, 44 per cent of them are from the Philippines, so we love to be associated with the best of brand companies.”

The Golden State Warriors are eighth in the NBA’s Western Conference having won two and lost two of their opening four games. They play their next fixture at home to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
