The German Basketball Federation (DBB) has extended its partnership with apparel brand Peak Sport until 2028.
The Chinese company will continue as the official apparel supplier of German basketball's governing body thanks to a new deal brokered by Lagardère Sports Germany, the German arm of the international sports marketing agency Lagardère, which handles the DBB's marketing rights.
Peak Sports’ current deal with the DBB was not due to expire until 2020. Under the terms of the new agreement, the brand will supply kit to Germany's senior men’s, women’s and all age-grade national basketball teams until after the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The news comes after the DBB agreed a four-year deal with health insurance company Pronova BKK in November.
Peak Sports also has a partnership with the national basketball authority of Australia until 2020, as well as similar supply arrangements with federations in Israel, Serbia, Nigeria, New Zealand and Latvia.
"The DBB is now in a very good position for the coming years, and I am very optimistic about the future," said Ingo Weiss, the body's president.
