Brazilian national soccer team star Gabriel Jesus has been announced as the latest client of Octagon Brazil.
Under the terms of the agreement, the agency will be in charge of the Manchester City striker’s image management and social media accounts, and will also represent the 20-year-old in sponsorship negotiations.
The deal was confirmed on Jesus’ Instagram account in association with Brazilian Fifa World Cup winner Ronaldo, who is also a partner of Octagon.
Gabriel Lima, chief executive of Octagon Brazil, said: “We see athletes as diverse influencing profiles, which can be linked to the most varied brands.”
Ronaldo added: “A high-performance athlete needs image management. Certainly, Gabriel Jesus will take the name of our agency worldwide. I am motivated to return to work with athletes and proud to start on the right foot.”
Gabriel Jesus is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in world soccer. After leading São Paulo-based Palmeiras to their first Brazilian top-flight title in 22 years, he moved to Premier League side Manchester City for a reported £27 million (US$35 million), and scored seven goals in his first ten appearances for the club.
