French duo sign with Viagogo
Online ticket exchange Viagogo has signed partnership deals with French rugby union clubs RC Toulon and USA Perpignan.
According to an official press release, the announcement makes Viagogo the official ticket exchange partner of both Top 14 clubs and as such the company will be ‘providing season ticket holders with the opportunity to re-sell match tickets they cannot use to like minded fans.’
The financial terms of Toulon and Perpignan’s deals with Viagogo were not released.
Viagogo’s head of marketing, Edward Parkinson, said: “We are proud to be partnering with two Top 14 rugby clubs, which are among the best teams in Europe. The new service will reward season ticket holders for unused tickets and give fans around the world access to seats in the Stade Mayol and Stade Aimé Giral that would have otherwise been left empty”.
“Viagogo has unrivalled experience in providing top clubs with a safe and secure ticket exchange facility. We always strive to offer our fans the best possible experience by working with first class partners,” said Benjamin Larrue, marketing director for RC Toulon.
Continuing: “The new Viagogo ticket exchange facility will provide an invaluable service to our season ticket holders and will help us expand our international fan base, making it easier for fans to buy tickets to Toulon matches from anywhere in the world.”
Sylvain Deroeux, Perpignan’s director general, said: “Our new partnership with Viagogo is great news for our supporters who can’t attend certain matches, for fans trying to get a ticket to must-see matches and the international fans looking to buy tickets securely for USAP matches.”
