Fox Sports Latin America expands Liga MX rights portfolio

Fox Sports Latin America has signed broadcast rights agreements with newly promoted top-tier Mexican soccer sides Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles and Santos Laguna.

The pay-TV broadcaster will show coverage of both Liga MX outfits’ home games live across Latin America and the USA. The content will be available on its linear channels Fox Sports and Fox Sports 2, as well as its OTT platforms.

The agreement with Xolos will start in July 2018, while Santos’ contract begins exactly one year later. The two sides join fellow Liga MX teams Leon and Pachuca in having signed exclusive broadcasting rights deals with Fox Sports Latin America, which also holds the rights to six women’s teams in the Liga MX Femenil.

“It’s a fact that with strategic allies such as Xolos and Santos, plus our alliance with Pachuca and Leon, we’ll have one of the most solid offers within national football,” said Federico Alaman, senior vice-president and general manager of Fox Networks Group Mexico.

“This confirms the commitment we have with our commercial partners of giving the best sports entertainment offer in the industry, to add value, promote sales and contribute to their brands’ positioning.”
