Fiji’s Mai TV awarded Fifa rights package
Fiji’s Mai TV has secured a deal to broadcast several Fifa competitions between December 2013 and July 2014.
The package of rights includes next year’s Fifa World Cup in Brazil, as well as the Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti in December, the Under-17 World Cup, the Under-17 Women’s World Cup and the Under-20 Women’s World Cup.
Mai TV, a commercial broadcaster, acquired the rights from Click Pacific, which last week won the exclusive rights to the tournaments across the Pacific Islands. Port Moresby-based Click Pacific was formed in February of this year by Mai TV Fiji founder Richard Broadbridge and a number of investors from Papua New Guinea.
Mai TV previously broadcast the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.blog comments powered by Disqus
