Fifa signs synthetic turf company as preferred producer
GreenFields, one of the most established companies in the synthetic turf industry, has been named as a Fifa Preferred Producer by the governing body of world soccer.
The partnership will be a lucrative one for GreenFields, given the amount of money Fifa and its member federations spend on artificial turf. The programme was introduced to standardise the quality of artificial pitches and to guarantee the safety of players.
"We see the Fifa Preferred Producer Programme as a decisive step for the market and the industry in general and especially for the development of GreenFields," said Hugo de Vries, managing director of GreenFields.
"Sustainability is the key issue these days," he added. "The Fifa concept fits our vision and philosophy to create perfect durable playing conditions all over the world. Accordingly we have continuously adapted our organisation on all levels."
