Fiat Chrysler Group assumes V8 Supercars role
V8 Supercars has announced that Fiat Chrysler Group’s (FCG) Chrysler brand will be the official sponsor of the racing series’ Pedders STP Safety and Course Cars for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
The two-year agreement marks a return to V8 Supercars for FCG after a five-year absence. Chrysler 300 SRT8s will be used as safety and course cars at all events, while a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be used as the official chase vehicle.
Sam Tabart, director of marketing at the Fiat Chrysler Group, said: “We’re excited to add V8 Supercars to our brands sponsorship portfolio. The Chrysler brand has a rich heritage of racing across the world which makes the partnership a good fit.”
V8 Supercars director of commercial and marketing John Dunlop added: “It’s already going to be a massive year and to now have the Fiat Chrysler Group on board is great news for the sport and the Chrysler and Jeep brands.”
“Chrysler is an amazing partner, we already know that, and getting to work with them again will be fantastic. The 300C SRT8 and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 are such strong brands and great cars that will gain valuable exposure on and off track.”
