German soccer giants FC Bayern Munich have extended their sponsorship agreement with HypoVereinsbank for another six years.
The Unicredit Bank affiliate will continue as a platinum partner of the Bundesliga champions until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Financial terms of the deal have not been officially released, but Sponsors.de values it at €4.5 million (US$5.15 million) per year.
HypoVereinsbank has been a partner of Bayern since 2003 and currently sits in the club’s platinum partner sponsorship category alongside Paulaner, DHL, Gigaset, Lufthansa, SAP, Tipico and Yingli.
The bank becomes the second platinum partner to renew with Bayern into the next decade, following Paulaner, which extended its deal in July.
Bayern are strong favourites to retain their Bundesliga title this season, having won each of their opening eight games.
