Primeira Liga leaders FC Porto have announced a long-term extension of their technical partnership with US sportswear brand New Balance.
The deal will see New Balance retain its role as the top-flight Portuguese soccer side’s kit supplier until the end of the 2024/25 season, providing training equipment and apparel for all of the club’s teams, as well as a wide range of attire for fans around the world.
New Balance, which is also the kit supplier for English side Liverpool, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Scottish champions Celtic, first became FC Porto’s technical sponsor ahead of the 2014/15 season. Since then, the club says that its global retail sales have increased by 91 per cent.
"We are delighted to continue to belong to the New Balance family with whom we have had a great relationship over the last few seasons,” said FC Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. “We look forward to new successes and to seeing our fans with equipment and clothing that will make them proud when they support our team.”
Kenny McCallum, managing director of New Balance Football, added: “FC Porto was one of the first clubs with whom we have agreed to supply equipment and this renewal is a reflection of a first phase extremely positive relationship with the club. The new agreement reflects the ambition of New Balance and FC Porto to grow and evolve globally with a huge desire for success.”
FC Porto are two points clear at the top of the Primeira Liga, and host Boavista in their next game on Saturday.
