FC Heidenheim, a soccer club from German soccer’s 2. Bundesliga, have extended their long-term partnership with Nike until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The American sportswear giant will continue to supply the second-tier team’s playing kits, and will receive extensive brand exposure around the club’s stadium, the Voith-Arena, and on its digital platforms.
The initial agreement between the two parties began in 2005, and according to German outlet Sponsors.de, the deal is worth an annual €125,000 (US$140,000).
The announcement coincides with Heidenheim’s renewal with their equipment partner 11teamsports, which has also extended for a further five years.
Florian Dreier, a member of the board of marketing and sales for FC Heidenheim, said: “I am very much looking forward to further cooperation with both Nike and 11teamsports. Both partners have accompanied us on our successful path in recent years. Now we want to go to the next step.”
Rolf Gramer, Nike’s business manager for soccer, added: “The story between FC Heidenheim and Nike is simply very special, since it already exists since 2005. For us, it was the logical step to extend this extremely successful partnership.”
FC Heidenheim finished sixth in the 2016/17 2. Bundesliga, and rounded off their season with a 2-1 win at home to 1860 Munich.
