Top-flight Spanish soccer side Espanyol have announced a new partnership with SportyCo for the rest of the 2017/18 season.
The technology company, which provides investment and crowdfunding solutions for sports organisations, will serve as the left sleeve and shorts sponsor of the La Liga outfit, giving its logo exposure on two advertising spaces on the team’s playing kit.
The partnership was announced at Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium by the club’s vice president Carlos Garcia Pont and Marko Filej, SportyCo’s owner.
“We are dedicated to helping young athletes to find enough resources to continue their sporting career,” said Filej. “We want to be present all over the planet and we consider that Espanyol is a globally recognised brand, so this sponsorship will help us to grow and be better known everywhere.”
The sponsorship was officially confirmed ahead of Espanyol’s local derby match at home to league leaders Barcelona on Sunday, which saw the away side equalise late on through Gerard Pique to escape with a 1-1 draw and preserve their unbeaten record.
