Telecommunications manufacturer Ericsson has become the digital experience partner of Ligue 1 soccer side Paris Saint-Germain.
Under the terms of the deal, the two parties will focus on building innovative digital experiences for fans of the French champions. In addition, the Swedish company will provide the club’s back-room staff with a bespoke performance information system, a digital experience backend system, and technology consulting and innovation services.
The financial terms of the deal were not released.
“We are very excited with this agreement that will both help Paris Saint-Germain to improve its sports performance and its fan experience, as well as allow Ericsson to show its technological leadership,” said Helena Norrman, Ericsson’s senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer.
“Together with Paris Saint-Germain’s staff, we will ensure that one of the most successful clubs is also one of the most technologically advanced.”
PSG have won the last four iterations of French soccer’s top flight but under the stewardship of new manager Unai Emery they currently lie third after 12 games of the 2016/17 season.
