Soccer: English soccer’s governing body, the Football Association (FA), are hoping to secure a pay-as-you-play deal at Wembley as part of the deal to sell the stadium to US businessman Shahid Khan, according to the Times.
According to the report, Khan would demand a market rate for staging games with the FA set to pay different amounts for different matches based on differing costs and revenue streams.

Tottenham Hotspur are paying UK£15 million for 28 matches at Wembley this season, setting a benchmark per-match rate at UK£535,000.
If such an agreement is reached by the FA with Khan it would open the door to the England men’s national team playing more games away from Wembley. England are set to play a friendly at Leeds United’s Elland Road in June, for which the FA is reportedly paying little over £100,000 with the Championship club keeping 75 per cent of the corporate ticket sales through a revenue sharing scheme.
Despite that sharp cost difference the FA would keep a reasonable amount of games at the national stadium in order to maintain the appeal of its UK£300 million Club Wembley debenture business.
In Brazil, TIM has renewed its sponsorship of Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A soccer clubs Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, Botafogo and Fluminense.
The telecommunications comany's new deals with the four Rio de Janeiro-based clubs will run until March 2019.
TIM will also support the men’s basketball teams of Flamengo and Botafogo, along with Fluminense’s women’s volleyball team.
Basketball: The International Basketball Federation (Fiba) has expanded its pertnership with Tissot, to see the Swiss watchmaker become the official timekeeper of Fiba 3x3. Tissot is already a top-tier partner of Fiba and last September signed a new five-year agreement with the body running until 2021.
Athletics: Nike has been named as an official partner of this year’s European Athletics Championships in Berlin.
European Athletics has also announced that Tosun will host its 2021 Indoor Championships, two years on from the Polish city suffering defeat in its efforts to land the 2019 event.
Down under, the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has partnered with Asics in a deal that runs until the Tokyo 2020 summer Games and names the Japanese sportswear manufacturer as the official competition and sportswear apparel partner of Australia’s Olympic teams.
College sports: National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) division one school, the University of Wyoming, has entered into a new eight-year partnership with Adidas that expires in 2026.
Squash: China will host its first World Squash Federation’s (WSF) event with the Women’s World Team Championship heading the city of Dalian in September to later this year.

Go Fas Racing and Zynga, a social game developer, have announced that the Zynga Poker brand will be the primary sponsor for the number 32 Ford and Matt DiBenedetto for seven more races in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 2018 season.

English top flight soccer club Brighton and Hove Albion are set to announce a partnership with the local Lewes Prison, according to a report in the Argus. The Premier League club are poised to forge links with the prison as part of a scheme to help inmates adjust to life on the outside. Albion chief executive Paul Barber visited the institution last week as a guest of David Dein, former vice-chair of Arsenal and the FA.
Barber said: “It was a really worthwhile visit and a real eye-opener for me personally. David’s message is ‘you can’t change what you’ve done in your life, but you can change what you are going to do in your life’. The reaction of the prisoners was absolutely fantastic.”
