Eleven Sports lands last-minute rights deal for PyeongChang

Global sports network Eleven Sports has secured the rights in Singapore to the imminent Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

The deal, which was agreed with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will see Eleven Sports provide approximately 20 hours of Games coverage each day across multiple channels. The broadcaster added that it will implement a multi-platform plan to engage fans in Singapore through its linear services, web, app and social media content.

Additionally, Eleven Sports will provide live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies, daily highlights and selected events via Facebook Live on its official Facebook page in order to reach a wider audience.

“We are thrilled that Eleven Sports is the official broadcast partner for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Singapore,” said Shalu Wasu, managing director for Eleven Sports Singapore. “It is very important for us to provide coverage for free so that all Singaporeans can enjoy our comprehensive, multi-platform coverage of the Games.

PyeongChang 2018 will also be the first ever Winter Olympics to feature an athlete from Singapore, with Cheyenne Goh set to compete in short track speed skating.
