Dunlop tables World Championship Ping Pong deal
Dunlop has agreed a sponsorship deal with the inaugural World Championship of Ping Pong (WCPP) table tennis tournament.
The brand will become the official equipment supplier to the event, providing its EVO 8000 Master Edition table and apparel for match officials. The tournament, which has been developed by boxing, billiards and darts promoter Barry Hearn's Matchroom Sport, reverts to historic table tennis regulations in a bid to slow the game down and improve its appeal to spectators and television viewers.
Sunny Singh, Dunlop's head of sports marketing, said: "We are extremely proud to announce this exciting partnership. Associating ourselves with such a tournament demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting top events. It’s an innovative format and we’re sure the tournament will be enjoyed by players and fans alike."
The World Championship of Ping Pong will be played on 5th and 6th January at London's Alexandra Palace and will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports.
