Top-tier Irish soccer side Dundalk have announced a new partnership with Dundalk Credit Union.
The financial services company will serve as the League of Ireland Premier Division outfit’s official community partner, in a deal which will see the two parties collaborate on a number of initiatives in order to increase the club’s activities and engagement with local schools and community groups.
The partnership was launched on Monday at Dundalk’s Oriel Park home ground, with the Football Association of Ireland’s (FAI) chief executive John Delaney in attendance.
Martin Connolly, general manager of Dundalk, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dundalk Credit Union into the Dundalk FC team as official community partner. Dundalk Credit Union, like ourselves, has a strong community focus and occupies a prominent place in Dundalk and surrounding areas.
“This is another good fit for Dundalk FC, and demonstrates the continued commitment of our organisation to the development of the youth of the town and the community.”
Billy Doyle, chief executive of Dundalk Credit Union, added: “Dundalk Credit Union is delighted to take on this role as community partner of Dundalk FC, and is committed to supporting young players and community groups to deliver and perform to their full potential.”
Defending champions Dundalk are second in the League of Ireland Premier Division, 17 points adrift of leaders Cork City. They play their next fixture at home to St Patrick’s Athletic on 1st September.
