Nascar team BK Racing (BKR) have renewed with long-term sponsor Dr Pepper.
The soft drinks brand, which first teamed up with BKR in 2011, will be the primary sponsor of BKR driver Gray Gaulding’s number 23 Toyota Camry for multiple races in the 2017 Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series, the top tier of US stock car racing. It will also serve as an associate sponsor throughout the year.
The Dr Pepper dedicated livery will makes its 2017 bow at the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on 5th March.
“Since I was a kid, I’ve enjoyed a Dr Pepper and a pack of crackers as a treat,” said Gaulding. “It’s a brand with a following as devoted as Nascar’s, and I’m excited to represent them both on and off the race track this season.”
Derek Dabrowski, vice president of marketing for Dr Pepper, added: “We’re very proud to continue our relationship with BK Racing, which gives us a great way to tap into the passions of the most popular spectator sport in America. We’re especially looking forward to seeing an exciting, up-and-coming driver like Gray behind the wheel of the number 23 car and wish him much success on the circuit this year.”
Elsewhere on the Nascar grid, team Premium Motorsports have secured co-primary sponsors for the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Wade Tractor and Adrenalin Powersports branding will adorn Premium Motorsports’ driver Derrike Cope’s number 55 Toyota Camry for the 325-lap contest.
