DMark renames Uganda’s Kobs Rugby Club

Ugandan rugby champions Kobs Rugby Club have agreed to a new multi-year naming rights deal with mobile phone company DMark worth US$162,000 overall.

Uganda's national rugby union champions Kobs Rugby Club have agreed to a new multi-year naming rights deal with mobile phone company DMark worth US$162,000 overall.

The agreement, which is being described as the biggest corporate sponsorship deal in the history of Ugandan rugby union, will see Kobs officially known as the DMark Kobs throughout the deal's five-year tenure.

“I must concede that Kobs is bigger than DMark so I’m proud to be associated with this club,” said DMark chief executive Robert Ssemakuka. "My only warning is that DMark never associates with losers.”

Kobs vice president Mike Wandera added, "We’ve now secured the necessary financial support to implement our growth plans."
