Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico will become the official airline partners for new Major League Soccer (MLS) team Los Angeles FC (LAFC)
The partnership will see the airline provide the expansion franchise with transportation for all away matches when they join the league in 2018.
In addition, Delta will also sponsor the team's pre-game warm-ups, provide interior and exterior digital signage, and support a series of fan and local community engagement schemes.
“From day one, our two organisations have shared in a collective vision for and commitment to Los Angeles,” said LAFC president Tom Penn.
“We are proud to partner with an industry leader, and look forward to elevating the LAFC experience for both our fans and players with Delta and Aeromexico by our side.”
Los Angeles FC senior vice president Jamie Guin added, “Delta Air Lines embodies all of the core attributes we look for in a partner as both an industry leader and an iconic global brand, while representing a common aspiration for Los Angeles.”
“Together with Aeromexico, as a supporter of LAFC from the beginning, we look forward to helping make this dream a reality and building LA’s next storied sports franchise as LAFC prepares for its inaugural season in 2018,” said Delta’s vice president, Ranjan Goswani.
Announced in 2014, Los Angeles FC will play their home games at the new US$350 million Banc of California Stadium.
