Motorsport outfit Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) have expanded their partnership with DC Solar.

The energy company, which previously partnered with the team for the second-tier Nascar Xfinity Series, will step up to become the primary sponsor of both Jamie McMurray’s number one Chevrolet and Kyle Larson’s number 42 entry for a ‘double-digit number’ of races during the top-tier 2018 Nascar Cup Series.

Additionally, DC Solar will continue to sponsor both of CGR’s entries in the 2018 Nascar Xfinity Series, while it will also serve as an associate sponsor in the IndyCar Series for CGR drivers Scott Dixon and Ed Jones.

“We have enjoyed our partnership with DC Solar and are very excited to welcome them to the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series,” said CGR’s team owner Chip Ganassi. “It has been a fun three years growing our partnership and we look forward to an exciting and successful first year with them on the cars with Kyle and Jamie.”

Jeff Carpoff, co-founder and chief executive of DC Solar, added: “We’re excited about expanding our relationship with CGR, and we’re especially proud to have Kyle and Jamie representing the DC Solar brand as we move to the sport’s highest level.

“We see an immense amount of value in the sport, with the unique opportunity each weekend to build relationships and interact with multiple partners, and we have every confidence that 2018 is going to be a successful year for everyone involved.”

DC Solar will activate the new agreement as Kyle Larson’s primary sponsor at the opening race of the 2018 season, which takes place at the Daytona International Speedway on 11th February.
