Warner had played with a Gray-Nicholls bat for almost a decade but lost a number of endorsement in the wake of March's ball tampering scandal. After training with an unbranded bat before his first game in the inaugural edition of the Canadian Twenty20 competition, the left-hander unveiled a new Spartan sponsorship.

Unfortunately for the 31-year-old, he lasted only two balls with the fresh blade as he was clean bowled for one by Sri Lanka veteran Lasith Malinga in the second over. 

Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Kevin Pietersen, Michael Clarke, Chris Gayle, Viv Richards and Wasim Akram are all Spartan ambassadors.
