CSI Sports has acquired the media rights to Deontay Wilder’s WBC world heavyweight boxing title fight with Luis Ortiz.
The deal covers rights to the 3rd March bout in more than 50 countries, including in Japan, Spain, Germany, Belgium, India, Singapore and sub-Saharan Africa.
CSI’s pay-TV channel Fight Sports will show the event live from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, as part of a double-header. The second part of the broadcast is HBO’s Championship Boxing night featuring Sergey Kovalev’s WBO light heavyweight world title defence against Igor Mikhalkin across town at Madison Square Garden.
Wilder, who has a 39-0 record with 38 knockouts, is defending his title for the seventh time since claiming the belt in a unanimous decision victory over Bermane Stiverne in January 2015 – the only fight to go the distance in the 32-year-old champion’s career thus far.
He faces fellow undefeated heavyweight Ortiz, who has a record of 28 wins with 24 knockouts from 28 fights.
