Brut Sport Style, the sport range from men’s grooming brand Brut, has unveiled England cricketer Jimmy Anderson as its new ambassador.
Anderson’s image will be used by Brut Sport Style on multiple in-store promotions in supermarkets, pharmacies and retailers in the UK. The 33-year-old Lancashire bowler will also feature on Brut gift packs which will be launched in conjunction with Father’s Day in the UK on Sunday 19th June.
Brut Sport Style will also become a Test match ground partner for the 2016 English cricket season, with its branding appearing on pitchside advertising boards during England’s Test, one-day internationals and Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan over the summer.
“I’m delighted to be joining a brand that has such a rich heritage in sport by becoming a Brut Sport Style Ambassador,” Anderson said. “The Sport Style range takes Brut in a fresh new direction and it’s great to hear that they will also be a Test match ground partner in 2016.”
Conor Feeney, international marketing manager with Unilever, said: “We are thrilled to announce this exciting new partnership. This new link between Jimmy Anderson, cricket, and Brut Sport Style represents a new chapter for the brand, and will hugely broaden our exposure in the UK.”
Anderson, affectionately known in some circles as the ‘Burnley Lara’ for his tail-end batting, overtook Sir Ian Botham to become England’s leading Test match wicket-taker in his 100th appearance, against the West Indies, in 2016. To date, he has taken 433 Test wickets at an average of 29.18 which leaves him seventh on the global all-time record wicket-takers list.
England face Sri Lanka this week at Headingley Carnegie in the first Test of a three-match series.
