Top-tier Brazilian soccer team Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama have announced a partnership with Uber.
The app-based taxi and transportation company will be an official sponsor of the Campeonato Brasiliero Série A outfit during 2018.
Uber’s branding will feature on Vasco’s shirts, and will also be present across the club’s social media platforms.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The taxi firm recently partnered with several other Brazilian soccer clubs, including Minas Gerais, Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro, as well as Italian Serie A team AS Roma.
Vasco finished seventh in Campeonato Brasiliero Série A in 2017 after winning 15 of their 38 games. Their league position secured qualification for the second stage of South American soccer’s premier club tournament, the Copa Libertadores, which will see them play Chilean side Universidad de Concepción on 31st January at the Estadio Municipal de Concepción.
